CVFD Wins the Firedog Across America Contest

Chickahominy Fire Station 10 wins the Firedog Across America contest, sponsored by Circuit
City.
CVFD was named a finalist out of over 5,100 entrants, specifically for our work with a gentleman in our community who has
Down Syndrome. We have taken him in as an associate member of our station, and it has done wonders for both him and us.

Engine
10 Works Fire at Richmond Harley-Davidson

September
2, 2005 - At 1806 hours, Engine 10 along with other
neighboring companies was alerted to a reported fire in the service
department of Richmond Harley-Davidson located at 10441 Washington
Highway. Engine 1 arrived on scene, side “C” and encountered smoke from
the service department bay door. Several handlines were utilized
and the fire was quickly extinguished.

Captain Frayser Deployed to Aide
Katrina Victims

August 31, 2005 -
Captain Mary Frayser is
currently serving in Bay St. Louis, MS as part of a FEMA DMAT, or
Disaster Medical Assistance Team. Mary is a member of the “VA-1 DMAT”
and was deployed from Virginia on August 28. Her role as a Registered
Nurse places her on the front lines caring for injured hurricane
victims. She is expected to return home around mid-September.
We are all very proud of Mary and our
thoughts and prayers are with her.
